The events photography industry is changing every day and the advantages of capturing video are being more apparent. Stay ahead of the curve and learn to improve your video with a compact versatile rig.

Head Videographer Sam Olly sits down with Matt Marais from LOKI Camera Gear to discuss camera rigs, more importantly the LOKI Camera One an affordable compact rig that can be transformed into the three types of rigs a shoulder support, cage and dolly.

Starting off with the more commonly used rig the shoulder support. Sam and Matt list out the benefits of a shoulder rig, describing it as a type of fluid tripod. Supporting these benefits they move of to discuss where this type of rig can come into play in the real world. Looking at weddings they discuss the benefits of using a shoulder rig allowing you to quickly move into position and capture steady video without carrying and finding a room for a tripod.

Quickly transforming the rig, Sam and Matt take a look at the cage configuration, again explaining how it is used to improve your video. Discussing not just the support it gives but the ability to attach microphones, lights, etc to the multiple mounting points on the cage. Then moving onto the real life uses they talk about uses for weddings and even sports.

With another quick change they look at the dolly configuration, a rig that will add production value and a real professional look to your video if used correctly. With that in mind Sam and Matt discuss how and when this rig should be used. If you ever wanted to capture a smooth gliding shot around wedding rings and other details this is the rig for you.

Before wrapping up Sam and Matt look at a few non conventional ways to use the rig to improve your video and filming experience.
