Learn how to get the most from new models; Mark demonstrates his approach when working with new talent. While sharing his key techniques for lighting male dance.

When working with someone new, Mark uses the initial session to get to know the model. By getting the dancer to execute a variety of positions, movements and add their own input, Mark gets a clear idea of the dancers look, abilities and creative input; key aspects for planning future shoots. To capture the images Mark is using four Elinchrom heads two with Maxi Lite Reflectors and two with Litemotiv Strips. Then using the EL-Skyport to switch between groups Mark can create multiple lighting setups in a short amount of time, giving him more time to shoot.

Equipment: Canon 5D Mkiii, Canon 24-70mm, Elinchrom Pro HD 1000 x2, Elinchrom Pro HD 500 x2, Elinchrom D-Lite RX 4, Elinchrom Maxi Lite Reflector x2, Elinchrom Indirect Litemotiv Strip 33x175cm x2, Elinchrom Rotalux Softbox, Elinchrom EL-Skyport, Sekonic Light Meter.
