Join Mark in this exclusive, behind the scenes series, following along as he shoots a full wedding day for real clients. This unique access allows you to see how Mark plans out his shooting but also how he tackles the unpredictability of a real life wedding. In this series Marks shoots Fiona and Simons Christmas wedding, with the usual wedding difficulties being increased by equipment problems and the great British weather. But with Marks experience and proper planning he takes it all in his stride and even adds some extra Christmas cheer, by taking the couple out into Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland Funfair to finish the day with some truly unique images.

In this fourth part the poor weather forces a change of plan, the Brides concern for her dress means initial plans to shoot in the park have to scrapped but Marks forethought means an alternative has already been planned allowing a seamless change to a venue right next to the reception. Once on location Mark shoots groups with the Bridesmaids and Best man before sending them over to the reception so he can focus on the Bride and Groom portraits. Mark utilises the location for beautiful natural light images, using a reflector to lift where needed. Then he adds variety with some wider shots using the buildings fantastic architecture before finishing with some fun dips and spins, as requested by the couple in the pre-wedding discussions.

In this third part Mark finishes the bridal groups at the house then heads over to the church. Making the most of a break in the weather Mark quickly shoots the Groom, Best man and the pageboys and some additional family groups for the groom’s side as well. Once at the church Mark encounters some issues with his speedlites forcing him to switch to the quantum trio, showing how important it is to have back-up equipment as you never know when you might hit a problem, and you always need to be prepared.

In this second part Mark continues to shoot key details around the house, explaining some of his choices and decisions as he goes. Then once the Bridal party are ready he focuses on shooting some natural light portraits of the Bride, utilising the large windows in the property for beautiful, soft light. Then he progresses to some early group shots with the bridesmaids and flower girl. As the weather looks like it could be poor throughout the day it is especially important to get these shots in the bag early to avoid rushing later in the day.

We join Mark on the Academy’s first destination wedding with Tamsin and Greg, who decided to get married on the sunny Spanish island of Majorca.

In this next part we rejoin Mark at the villa where the Bride and her family are getting ready. Mark now steps in to start moving things along as time starts to become a limiting factor, starting with a few shots of the Bride on her own he quickly combines this into shots with her family and bridesmaids to guarantee great group images whilst he has the opportunity. Through choice of location Mark controls the ambient light to produce beautiful, classic portraits and fantastic, sellable group shots, utilising the fantastic locations both inside and outside this awesome villa location.

We join Mark on location at Offley Place, Bedfordshire as he guides you through how he goes about shooting a full Jewish wedding, from the Brides preparation right through to the frenetic and fun evening of dancing.

In this first part we follow Mark as he shoots the initial preparations of the Bride and her family. We see how Mark has to really pick his moments through the hectic environment to get those brilliant shots. He also explains some of the limitations that come with a Jewish wedding and the importance of respecting the more religious elements of the day. Finally Mark takes an opportunity of as quiet moment to shoot some Bridal Portraits before the day really gets going.

Todays wedding is Scott and David's. The first civil partnership we have been asked to shoot.

In this Part of confetti and lace 12 Mark shoots the Scott and his wedding party as he gets ready for his big day.

Real and RAW is the only way to explain this type of wedding training by Mark Cleghorn, as you get to see how a working photographer copes under the pressures of a real wedding day, nothing fake here, as even the images have only been touched by camera RAW in conversion, so no Photoshop, just conversion from RAW to jpeg with some of the images selected to Black & White or Colour boosted
