The Editorial Apprentices - Shooting Editorial Part 3 Actors & Singers
Learn how to shoot editorial portraits in the studio. Mark Cleghorn demonstrates to the apprentices, how he progresses a shoot on to create a more dramatic style on image.
Now Mark is finished demonstrating, it’s the apprentices turn to shoot. Andy starts off as the first to shoot, but before he gets shooting Mark helps him through setting up for the shot as the model changes into something different. As Andy opted for the ring flash, Mark quickly guides him through metering and how to keep the right exposure when using on camera flash. Now Andy is more equipped for shooting, he shoots his first session as an apprentice. Once Andy is finished the model quickly goes off to change for Michelle’s shoot, as Mark quickly reviews Andy’s shoot. Michelle’s up to shoot and again Mark guides her through setting up and metering. Unlike Andy, Michelle is feeling a little more adventurous and chose to go with a three light setup. Once she is setup, Michelle shoots her session before Mark reviews her images and gives a quick overview of the day so far, reiterating the key points.
